Role overview
A global manufacturing business is hiring a customer service and supply chain coordinator in Houston, Texas. The role is based on-site and focuses on end-to-end order handling, accurate fulfillment, invoice support, and day-to-day customer communication in a fast-moving international setting.
Compensation and benefits
The salary is stated at 60,000 to 63,000 USD per year, with bonus eligibility. The benefits package includes comprehensive coverage such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a 401(k) and additional offerings.
Key responsibilities
- Handle customer orders from entry all the way through billing and final delivery.
- Support timely and accurate processing of orders while helping the team meet OTIF targets.
- Act as the main contact for customers, sales teams, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and logistics partners.
- Track ERP-related issues that affect ordering, shipping, or invoicing, and help resolve them.
- Manage EDI-based customer orders and keep customer master records up to date.
- Draft commercial invoices and pro forma invoices for international shipments, including transactions involving letters of credit, bank drafts, and advance payments.
- Follow Incoterms, pricing rules, and customer-specific order instructions.
- Prepare customs and shipping documents in line with U.S. and international trade requirements.
- Work with multiple distribution centers and production sites to improve shipment coordination.
- Maintain accurate customer information and prepare reports when needed.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts within the supply chain function.
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in customer service, logistics, supply chain, or order management.
- Background supporting B2B, retail, or customer fulfillment operations.
- Practical understanding of logistics, distribution, and supply chain workflows.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and good people skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work to deadlines with limited supervision.
- Professional handling of confidential and sensitive business information.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Preferred qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related discipline is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or another similar ERP platform is also preferred. Experience in consumer packaged goods customer service or supply chain operations, as well as exposure to international shipping, import/export paperwork, or customs compliance, would be an advantage.
