Role overview

Sugar Australia is seeking a Logistics & Supply Chain Analyst to join its Yarraville, Victoria head office. This permanent full-time position is suited to someone who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and helping strengthen supply chain performance. The role is focused on logistics, warehousing, inventory, and supply chain analysis, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the National Logistics Manager, you will examine freight, warehousing, and inventory transaction data against performance measures to support operational efficiency and business growth. You will also work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and 3PL partners to improve cost control and customer outcomes.

• Review freight, warehousing, and inventory data to spot trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare clear financial and operational reporting, including analysis of logistics costs and budgets.
• Assist with building, tracking, and reporting on logistics and warehousing budgets.
• Create monthly performance and cost reports in Excel and SAP, and present findings to business leaders.
• Handle inventory reporting and stock variance reconciliation to keep records accurate.
• Coordinate with key vendors on stocktakes and cycle counts to support inventory compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement work, tender activities, and end-to-end supply chain projects.
• Partner with stakeholders to share insights and help drive better outcomes.

What we're looking for

This opportunity suits a practical and analytical professional who is comfortable working with data and engaging with a range of stakeholders. Experience in logistics, warehousing, inventory, or supply chain analysis is important, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Tertiary study in Business Management, Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is highly desirable.
• At least 2 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory, or supply chain analysis.
• Background in financial and budget analysis within a logistics or supply chain setting.
• Strong knowledge of SAP, with experience working with large data sets highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel capability and confidence in analysing complex information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present data, insights, and group analysis to stakeholders with confidence.
• Solid inventory knowledge, including stock control and reconciliation.
• Understanding of 3PL warehousing and transport operations is highly desirable.
• Experience in FMCG is strongly preferred.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a genuine interest in continuous improvement.
