About the Role
Urban Blueprint is looking for a driven, detail-focused intern or part-time team member to support its Project Coordination, Interior Design, Architectural Design, and Construction Management functions. This opportunity offers practical exposure across several departments within a growing residential design-build firm that works on custom homes, additions, and major renovation projects across Toronto.
The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Project Coordinators, the Interior Design team, department leaders, as well as the CEO and Director of Construction. The role is intended to provide a broad view of the residential design and construction process, helping the candidate build experience in project management, client coordination, design support, and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project coordination and construction administration activities.
- Prepare tender and bid documents and share them with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Help organize trade schedules and update project timelines.
- Maintain project data in Buildertrend construction management software.
- Create finish schedules and specification sheets for items such as tile, flooring, paint, millwork, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and hardware.
- Assist the Interior Design team with product research, selections, and documentation.
- Provide administrative and documentation support to the Architectural Design team.
- Keep project files, meeting records, and client communications organized.
- Support procurement tracking, budget monitoring, and project reporting.
- Assist during site visits, project meetings, and coordination activities when needed.
- Deliver general administrative support across departments.
Who This Role Is For
This position is well suited to students or early-career professionals in construction management, architecture, interior design, engineering, project management, or a related discipline who want hands-on experience in a collaborative design-build setting. The role offers direct learning from experienced professionals and exposure to the full lifecycle of residential projects, from initial concept to final completion.
Qualifications
- Excellent organization and time management abilities, with strong attention to detail.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with Google Workspace.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a solid work ethic.
- Interest in residential construction, architecture, interior design, and project management.
- Capability to work independently while also contributing well in a team setting.
- Familiarity with Buildertrend, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage, though not mandatory.
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to transportation.
