Role overview
Strata is an engineering-focused consultancy known for construction planning, project controls, and digital construction. The business has been recognised with the 2026 Construction Advisory Excellence ICE Award and was named Engineering Company of the Year 2025 at the Irish Construction Industry Awards. Based in Dublin with an international reach, the company supports projects across Data Centres, Energy, Pharma, Infrastructure, Healthcare, and Residential sectors.
This opportunity is aimed at an early-career Construction Planning Engineer with roughly 2 years of site or project exposure who wants to grow in construction planning, project controls, and digital delivery. You will work alongside experienced planners, engineers, and site teams, gaining practical experience with modern planning tools, programme management, and data-led delivery methods.
What you will be doing
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of construction programmes so they remain aligned with project goals and milestone dates.
- Support detailed scheduling for civils and MEP works while working under senior guidance and alongside site and engineering colleagues.
- Help run project controls activities that monitor progress, productivity, and schedule performance.
- Prepare progress reports and updates for internal teams and client representatives, with an emphasis on accuracy and clear communication.
- Assist in reviewing and preparing method statements to support safe and efficient execution on site.
- Create sequence sketches, phasing drawings, and simple planning visuals to help with site coordination.
- Work with site, design, engineering, and commercial teams to collect information and identify programme risks and opportunities.
- Assist with progress measurement, including installed quantities, basic earned value checks, and milestone tracking.
- Track procurement and delivery activity, including off-site fabrication and any interfaces affecting the construction programme.
- Support change control and programme revisions, including logging delays and helping assess impacts.
What we are looking for
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or comparable hands-on experience.
- More than 2 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally with site delivery or project controls exposure.
- Some familiarity with, or a strong interest in, scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Genuine interest in digital construction and contemporary planning methods.
- Strong attention to detail and a disciplined, analytical way of working.
- Ability to communicate project updates clearly and work well with site teams, along with a willingness to learn from others.
- Self-motivated approach and interest in building a long-term career in construction planning.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% across project locations.
- Right to work full time in the EU.
