About the Team and Mission
In the Software and Data Services unit, the team builds modern software products with agile practices to support the European energy transition. As the portfolio of batteries, solar, wind, and biogas assets grows, the focus is on using their flexibility to help balance changes in renewable energy generation.
In this role, you will bring together multiple data sources and create Python-based applications that enable electricity traders to make the best possible use of the flexibility available in the company’s assets.

Role Overview
This position can be structured as full-time or part-time, depending on the fit. The company is interested in discussing the arrangement that works best for both sides.
Technical Environment
The team works with Python 3 and a modern backend stack that includes asyncio, FastAPI, FastStream, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, pandas, and pytest. The infrastructure and tooling environment includes Azure, GitHub CI/CD, Docker, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, Terraform, Jira, Confluence, and Grafana.
What You Will Do
- Build backend applications, APIs, and algorithmic tools that help traders use power plant flexibility effectively.
- Develop dependable, maintainable, and scalable Python code.
- Learn how flexible power plants operate and factor their capabilities and limits into your solution design.
- Work closely with an agile, cross-functional team through code reviews, pair programming, and retrospectives.
- Support internal users by analysing issues and developing practical solutions for complex problems.
- Continue building your understanding of the energy sector with genuine curiosity.
Candidate Profile
- You bring several years of professional software development experience, especially with Python.
- You are able to break down complex workflows and requirements into production-ready implementations.
- You have hands-on experience with the listed stack or similar tools and are motivated to deepen your expertise.
- Background in electrical engineering, energy markets, or a related area is an added advantage.
- You are creative, eager to learn, and enjoy discussing technical approaches with colleagues.
- You can work confidently in English.
