Role overview
The university is seeking a Records Evaluator to manage student education records and support registration-related operations. This position handles the entry of courses during registration, maintains record accuracy, and processes key academic documents throughout the term and at its close.
Key duties
- Maintain student education records and enter course data during registration periods.
- Process academic record updates such as name or address changes, along with end-of-term record workflows.
- Send electronic enrollment and degree files to the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Review academic credits and record transfer credits for incoming students.
- Handle schedule changes, including drops, adds, withdrawals from individual courses, and withdrawals from the university.
- Support the registration process and assist in its smooth implementation.
- Provide courteous in-person support to walk-in students and other clients, redirecting them appropriately when needed.
- Stay current on academic program updates and changes to the university catalog.
- Enter and manage information in the Banner system.
- Act as a technical point of contact between the Office of Student Records/University Registrar and the IT department.
- Prepare reports on academic standing, enrollment, withdrawals, and retention.
- Compile diploma-related information for graduating seniors and approved candidates.
- File education records and related documents accurately.
- Respond to student registration questions and individual service needs.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 3 years of prior administrative experience is required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is essential.
- Prior experience with student information systems, particularly Banner, is required.
- Must follow FERPA requirements strictly and handle sensitive records with confidentiality.
- Should be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Working knowledge of general office procedures and records management is expected.
- Planning and organizational ability is preferred.
- Must be able to work extended hours and juggle multiple tasks.
- Needs to remain focused until work is completed.
Preferred education
A master’s degree is preferred.
