About the Role
Nanyang Technological University Singapore, specifically the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), is seeking a Research Fellow to lead Module D of the project “Building Community Resilience Against Sea-Level Rise.” This project, funded by the National Parks Board (NParks) under the Marine Climate Change Science Coastal Protection (MCCS) call, aims to integrate geospatial modeling, behavioral risk perception, agent-based simulation, and community engagement to support Singapore's coastal adaptation strategies. The role involves close collaboration between CEE and the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI).
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the design, calibration, and validation of an Agent-Based Model (ABM) as part of Module D.
- Integrate outputs from Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based archetypes into the ABM agent profiles.
- Develop a simulation interface suitable for handover to government agencies.
- Perform scenario planning, Monte Carlo simulations, and sensitivity analyses.
- Create workshop and training materials for the effective transfer of the simulation tool to agencies.
- Contribute to project reports, present findings at conferences, and publish in high-impact academic journals.
Job Requirements
