Senior Engineer - Roads Maintenance

Role overview

This role sits within roads and facilities maintenance and focuses on planning, coordinating, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities for road assets. Strategy

• Create and keep maintenance plans up to date, covering both preventive and corrective work, and prioritize defects based on safety risk, urgency, and impact on customers.
• Prepare and align tender documentation and technical requirements in coordination with internal stakeholders and outside agencies.
• Assign work, oversee leave and training arrangements, and track staff output to make sure team objectives are met.

Operations

• Monitor outsourced contractors and assess their daily, weekly, monthly, and annual work plans to confirm they meet required specifications.
• Examine inspection findings, validate snag lists, and oversee defect liability and substantial completion inspections.
• Authorize payment plans and contractor bills after confirming that the completed work matches the claimed quantities and scope.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity and progress in the relevant systems for reporting and future reference.
• Track asphalt, unpaved road, sidewalk, and track maintenance or improvement tasks to ensure they are completed on schedule.
• Carry out road improvement changes requested to help strengthen traffic safety.

Product and process improvement

• Review contractor performance and maintenance data, then suggest updates to programs or specifications that can improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Physical working conditions

• Make regular site visits to active road maintenance locations to check workmanship quality and compliance with safety requirements.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or a master's degree in engineering is required. Candidates need 3+ years of relevant experience if they hold a master's degree, or 5+ years if they hold a bachelor's degree. Professional certifications such as PMP and ACI/Asphalt QC are preferred. The role is available only to UAE nationals and follows a full-time schedule. The monthly salary is not specified.
