Role Summary

The Senior Networks Engineer (L2) is responsible for supporting Diacom’s networking projects, solutions, and service delivery for both new and existing customer environments. This includes configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure while protecting service continuity, customer satisfaction, and the continued growth of the networking business line. The role also contributes to building new services, assisting the helpdesk with escalations, and maintaining strong documentation and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and roll out enterprise network solutions for both new deployments and existing customer environments.
  • Advise on network architecture, including capacity planning, segmentation, scalability, and security considerations.
  • Maintain the performance, stability, and reliability of customer networks, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and related systems.
  • Apply best-practice setup, deployment, and lifecycle management across switching, wireless, firewall, and NAC/AAA platforms.
  • Manage scheduled firmware updates, maintenance windows, and infrastructure refresh work.
  • Serve as the senior escalation contact for complex or business-critical network incidents raised by the helpdesk and TAC teams.
  • Carry out root-cause analysis, recommend remediation, and implement durable fixes.
  • Prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders on network health, performance trends, and incident resolution results.
  • Work with VoIP, Managed Services, and Cybersecurity teams on cross-functional initiatives and integrated solutions.
  • Support sales and account management teams with technical input, solution design, and pre-sales activities.
  • Mentor junior network engineers and share knowledge across the team.
  • Contribute to internal training, technical standards, and process improvement efforts.
  • Take part in the after-hours support rota for urgent infrastructure or customer-impacting incidents.
  • Be available for overtime during major deployments or urgent customer needs when required.

Requirements

  • Hands-on exposure to, or experience with, enterprise networking platforms such as Aruba, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
  • A full driver’s licence is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability across wired and wireless environments.
