About the role

Join the core engineering group building the backend foundation behind AI search and embedding products. The work centers on infrastructure that serves millions of daily requests and supports model execution across devices ranging from phones to GPUs. This position brings together systems programming, distributed systems, and machine learning infrastructure to shape tools that change how developers build with AI.

Key responsibilities

Develop backend services that can reliably process millions of search and embedding queries.
Tune the vector database layer to deliver extremely low-latency query results at scale.
Create and support model-serving systems across different deployment environments.
Work closely with machine learning engineers to ship new models and algorithms into production.
Strengthen monitoring, visibility, and reliability across distributed services.
Guide junior teammates and participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
Produce well-structured code and back it with thorough test coverage.

Requirements

Professional experience developing production systems in Python, Go, or Rust.
Strong grasp of distributed systems concepts and database internals.
Hands-on exposure to vector databases, search systems, or ML infrastructure.
Proven ability to build high-performance systems that scale effectively.
Clear communication skills and comfort working in a remote-first setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world experience.

Preferred experience

Familiarity with ONNX, TensorRT, or similar model-optimization tools.
Open-source contributions in machine learning or infrastructure.
Understanding of transformer models and embeddings.
Experience with Kubernetes, Ray, or comparable orchestration platforms.
Background in information retrieval or natural language processing.
