About the role
D11Z. Ventures is a European venture capital firm backing software and deep tech founders across the continent, with a particular emphasis on pre-seed and seed-stage opportunities in cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and enterprise software. The company is hiring a practical software engineer to take responsibility for its internal technology platform and help scale it from data infrastructure through to AI-driven agents.
The team already has a proprietary system for identifying and assessing startups. This position is meant for someone who can strengthen that foundation and expand it further. You will work from the Heilbronn office and contribute as part of the engineering group building tools that support how the firm sources and evaluates companies.
Key responsibilities
The role centers on improving the systems that power investment operations and deal flow. You will work on data pipelines, internal automation, and AI tooling that supports the investment team and fund operations.
- Develop and upkeep the data layer, including databases and API connections.
- Improve the AI-based startup sourcing workflow.
- Create internal AI agents that help the investment team move faster.
- Build automations that simplify fund management processes.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has a background in a STEM discipline and experience working in a fast-moving technical environment. Strong coding ability and the ability to take initiative are important for this role.
- A degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or another closely related STEM subject.
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in a technical setting such as a startup, scaleup, or venture capital environment.
- Very solid Python and SQL skills.
- Professional fluency in both German and English.
- A practical, ownership-oriented approach with a strong builder mindset.
