In this Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer role, you will handle intricate technical problems and work closely with backend engineering teams. The position centers on deep troubleshooting, while also offering hands-on exposure to backend work involving Java, Spring Boot microservices, APIs, and blockchain-related technologies.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced Tier 3 support by quickly pinpointing issues, resolving them, and escalating only when necessary.
- Partner with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, DevOps, and backend engineers to address both code-level and system-level incidents.
- Create, improve, and maintain internal automation utilities that streamline workflows and reduce repetitive manual work.
- Develop dashboards and monitoring setups to observe system health and track incident patterns.
- Assist backend teams with Java and Spring Boot to troubleshoot and improve APIs and microservices.
- Record troubleshooting steps, root-cause findings, and recommended practices in the internal knowledge repository.
- Contribute to incident handling and help maintain 24/7 stability across Binance’s trading platform and connected systems.
- Keep up with emerging tools and practices in backend engineering, automation, and Web3 infrastructure.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- 2 to 10 years of experience in technical support, DevOps, or backend engineering for high-scale systems.
- Strong ability to debug and troubleshoot distributed systems, trading platforms, or payment systems.
- Working knowledge of AI tools such as Claude Code for vibe coding and QA, creating AI agent skills, using AI to inspect logs and databases for troubleshooting and analysis, and automating task management with AI agents.
- Proficiency in Java is preferred; Python or Rust are also relevant, and experience with Spring Boot and microservices is an advantage.
- Practical experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfort with network protocols such as HTTP and TCP/IP, plus REST API troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of MySQL and performance tuning; exposure to NoSQL systems such as MongoDB and Redis is a plus.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin for coordination with international stakeholders.
- Background in Java backend development and microservice troubleshooting is preferred.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or Web3 infrastructure is an added advantage.
- Understanding of blockchain fundamentals and interest in DeFi, Web3, or AI-driven systems is beneficial.
