Transport Planner

About the role

The team is looking for a Transport Planner to support the smooth running of the Clonshaugh operation in Dublin. This position suits someone who enjoys a busy transport setting, likes solving problems quickly, and is comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change from day to day.

What you will do

• Coordinate vehicle schedules and oversee day-to-day transport activity
• Assist drivers and operational colleagues throughout the shift
• Organise rotas and use transport resources efficiently
• React promptly to service issues and customer needs
• Make sure driver hours and transport regulations, including WTD requirements, are followed
• Work with teams across different shifts to keep service standards on track
• Spot and support improvements that can make operations quicker and more effective

This is a position where your judgement has a direct effect on daily performance.

Shift pattern

• Any 5 days out of 7
• Most likely Sunday to Thursday
• Start times are 7:00am on Sunday and Monday, and 9:00am from Tuesday to Thursday
• Some flexibility will be needed
• 8-hour shifts
• Overtime may be available

The rota is designed to support work/life balance and provides regular time off.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will bring transport planning or logistics operations experience, along with a solid understanding of drivers’ hours, WTD, and transport compliance. Experience in a busy operational setting is important, as are strong communication and problem-solving abilities. A National or International CPC is preferred, though it is not essential.

Above all, the right person will stay composed under pressure, work well with others, and take pride in keeping the operation running well.
