Role overview

The Assistant Manager will partner with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy Sheffield store. This is a practical, floor-based leadership role with responsibility for commercial performance, team development and delivering an excellent customer experience every day.

Key responsibilities

• Help deliver store targets for sales, productivity and profitability.
• Review KPIs and store performance data to spot opportunities and act on them.
• Maintain strong standards in stock flow, including deliveries, replenishment and overall inventory execution.
• Ensure cash handling, compliance and Health & Safety processes are followed consistently.
• Support visual merchandising and ensure products are presented in a trend-led, appealing way.
• Keep the customer journey smooth, welcoming and inspiring at all times.
• Lead from the shop floor during busy periods, setting the pace for service and energy.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, coaching and ongoing development of the team.
• Motivate team members to perform at their best and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture.
• Address issues early with fairness, clarity and a constructive approach.
• Support rota planning around trading patterns and deliveries.
• Help maintain efficient, well-organised store operations and respond quickly to changes in performance needs.
