About the Opportunity

Swish is looking for a Buyer to join its Purchasing team. In this role, you will handle day-to-day buying activities that help ensure products are sourced on time and at the right cost. You will manage purchase orders, keep procurement records accurate, and maintain productive relationships with suppliers while supporting stock availability and smooth operations.

Key Duties

• Create, track, confirm, and follow up on purchase orders, including ETA updates.
• Review open orders and chase late or missing shipments proactively.
• Keep product and supplier information accurate in the ERP system.
• Set up new item codes and safeguard data quality across purchasing tools.
• Share order progress and supply concerns with branch teams and internal stakeholders.
• Work with suppliers on lead times, shortages, pricing, and product availability.
• Help identify substitute products and alternate suppliers when sourcing challenges arise.
• Support supplier management by monitoring pricing, terms, and service levels.
• Assist Finance with inventory control activities.
• Maintain purchasing records such as price lists and supplier files.
• Use data and reports to help improve day-to-day performance.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, and Warehouse teams to keep products available.
• Contribute to process improvements and team initiatives.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• A post-secondary background in Business, Supply Chain, or a similar field is preferred; relevant work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a comparable position.
• Prior exposure to ERP systems, such as Epicor, is an advantage.
• Strong planning and prioritization skills to juggle multiple responsibilities.
• Clear communication and relationship-building skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
• A detail-focused and solution-oriented approach.
• Good computer skills, especially with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, on-site role in Peterborough, Ontario. The salary range is $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on skills and experience. The position also includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus and vacation starting at 3 weeks.
