Role overview
EQUANS is hiring a Caretaker for Marsden Heights Community College, Edge End Ln, Nelson BB9 0PR. This is a permanent, full-time position based on site.
The role is scheduled for 37.5 hours each week and offers a salary of £25,954.50 per year, along with a benefits package.
Working hours
- Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Monday to Friday, with timings subject to change, either 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
What the role involves
You will oversee the everyday running of the school site from a caretaking perspective and build a positive working relationship with the school and local community groups. The expectation is to keep service delivery at a consistently high level and support the Area Supervisor in meeting the terms of the Project Agreement.
Compliance requirements
This position requires DBS clearance, so the ability to pass the check is essential. You must also be able to provide proof of the right to work in the UK.

Candidate profile
The ideal applicant should have experience with general cleaning, security duties, and basic maintenance of buildings, equipment, and associated systems. Previous experience supervising others is also important. Strong communication and customer service skills are needed, together with a solid understanding of health and safety. You should also be able to organise tasks and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
