Qualifications

The preferred academic background is a bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or Engineering.

Experience and background

The role calls for 12 years of experience across multiple project disciplines such as project management, engineering, construction, and procurement within the Oil & Gas sector. In addition, the candidate should have at least 3 years of leadership experience in project management on a major Oil & Gas project.

Strong exposure to business and risk management is required, along with hands-on experience in project controls, cost and schedule planning, tender preparation, and contract administration.

Core accountabilities

This position is responsible for leading all project contracting activities, including issuing ITTs, executing EPC contracts, and administering Services CWO work, while coordinating closely with Legal and other key project stakeholders.

The manager will oversee the creation of ITT packages and guide the full tendering cycle to maintain commercial integrity, competitiveness in the market, and adherence to project governance standards.

Contract strategies must be developed and governed carefully, along with EPC contract documentation, to ensure scope is fully defined, risks are allocated appropriately, and the work remains aligned with project goals.

The role also includes reviewing contractor technical and commercial responses and advising senior leadership and shareholders on contractual suitability, financial exposure, and award decisions.

Full contract administration must be controlled, covering change management, payment certification, claims handling, security tracking, amendments, and final closure.

Negotiations with contractors on proposed changes and commercial adjustments will be led to deliver the best possible outcomes while safeguarding cost and schedule commitments.

Complex contract disputes must be managed, and formal commercial correspondence prepared to protect the company’s contractual position and limit financial risk.

The manager is expected to safeguard the project’s commercial interests through close monitoring of the contracting environment and proactive risk mitigation for major capital investment.

Building team capability is also part of the role, including mentoring staff, strengthening commercial knowledge, and promoting process improvement.

Ultimately, the position must support a high-performing contracts team that delivers strong results in safety, quality, cost, and schedule through disciplined delivery and commercial oversight.
