Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting following established procedures to quickly identify and resolve hardware issues, replacing faulty components with minimal disruption.
• Perform quality checks after hardware deployments, ensuring proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling adhere to safety standards and network design specifications.
• Execute hardware decommissioning for routine updates and upgrades, such as memory replacements or system rebuilds, with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to procedures for reporting and escalating incidents to the appropriate Microsoft data center operations teams, leads, and specialists.
• Provide support and guidance to fellow technicians on complex or challenging tasks.
• Complete all assigned training and gain practical experience by observing and assisting senior technicians.
• Foster a positive team dynamic by actively sharing information, participating in team meetings, and staying informed about colleagues' work.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability for service quality, task completion, and the overall user experience within the data center facilities.
• Uphold and embody Microsoft's core culture and values in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, coupled with a foundational understanding of computer hardware and components.
• A minimum of one year of experience in supporting IT equipment or related technological fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of experience in supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) or Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).

Additional Information

This role requires the ability to pass Microsoft's Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter. This position will remain open for applications on a continuous basis until filled, with a minimum posting period of 5 days.
