Draftsperson

Role overview

Burbank Group is seeking a meticulous Draftsperson to join its South Australia State Operations team in Adelaide. This role focuses on producing accurate residential construction drawings that align with customer agreements, developer specifications, and legal and technical requirements, while supporting the delivery of well-designed homes across the state.

What you’ll do

• Create precise drafting documentation that consistently reflects customer contracts, developer rules, and Burbank’s internal standards.
• Develop a full range of drawing outputs, including site plans, floor layouts, elevations, internal arrangements, section drawings, and compliance-related diagrams such as shadowing and overlooking.
• Revise and update existing drawings when design changes or variations are required.
• Interpret engineering drawings and transfer the relevant details accurately into architectural documentation.
• Compile final construction-ready drawing sets for approval and build commencement.

Skills and experience

This opportunity is suited to a draftsperson with a background in volume home building and a strong grasp of residential construction documentation. Applicants should be comfortable working to deadlines, collaborating with others, and solving drafting issues proactively.

Requirements

• Diploma in Drafting, Design, or a similar discipline.
• 2–3 years of drafting experience in a volume home building setting.
• Advanced working knowledge of ArchiCAD, which is essential for the role.
• Strong understanding of the NCC, building regulations, and applicable Australian Standards.
• Familiarity with the South Australia planning approval process and RFIs.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines.
• A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a customer-first approach.
• Good knowledge of construction terminology, detailing, and documentation practices.
