Role overview
Help AG, an e& enterprise company, is seeking a seasoned security professional to lead enterprise data loss prevention, data classification, and data discovery efforts. This position calls for deep practical experience in building, operating, and supporting large-scale DLP and data protection environments, with particular focus on Symantec DLP and GEODI platforms.
The role is centered on safeguarding sensitive information, enforcing data governance controls, overseeing endpoint and discovery tooling, and helping the organization remain aligned with security standards and regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deploy, configure, and administer enterprise DLP systems built on Symantec DLP.
- Set up and support GEODI Data Classifier, GEODI Data Discovery, and GEODI End Point Discovery components.
- Create, maintain, and refine DLP rules to detect, monitor, and prevent exposure of sensitive information.
- Manage DLP controls across endpoints, networks, email, cloud services, and storage platforms.
- Carry out data discovery and classification work across the enterprise landscape.
- Locate sensitive and regulated information in both structured and unstructured sources.
- Review DLP alerts, investigate potential security breaches, and advise on corrective actions.
- Work closely with infrastructure, application, and compliance stakeholders to improve the organization’s data protection posture.
- Adjust policies and detection logic to lower false positives and improve operational effectiveness.
- Prepare operational, compliance, and risk-related reports for leadership and audit use.
- Assist with incident response involving data leakage, exfiltration, and insider-risk scenarios.
- Handle upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for DLP platforms.
- Produce technical documentation such as SOPs, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Ensure practices align with internal policies and applicable regulations such as GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS where relevant.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and operations personnel.
- Provide L2/L3 operational support for DLP and data discovery environments.
- Take part in security incident analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Support change control, maintenance windows, and system upgrade activities.
- Help maintain platform uptime, performance, and operational resilience.
- Join on-call rotations and handle critical incidents when needed.
Required qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 8 years of practical experience in information security and data protection technologies.
- Hands-on background with Symantec DLP, GEODI Data Classifier, GEODI Data Discovery, and GEODI End Point Discovery.
- Experience deploying and managing discovery and endpoint agents.
- Strong understanding of data classification approaches and data governance concepts.
- Experience in incident analysis, policy tuning, and troubleshooting DLP solutions.
- Good working knowledge of Windows environments, file systems, and endpoint security.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks related to data protection and classification.
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured data repositories.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- High ownership, accountability, and professional judgment.
- Comfortable handling technical disagreements, organizational challenges, and implementation hurdles.
- Able to perform effectively in a fast-moving enterprise setting.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and business-writing skills.

- Self-driven professional attitude with sound decision-making and sensitivity toward others.
Preferred certifications
- CISSP, CISM, CEH, Symantec DLP certification, or an equivalent security credential is considered an advantage.
- Other relevant cybersecurity certifications are welcomed.
