Role Overview
The Executive Director, Technical Operations and Development will lead CMC execution for late-stage gene therapy programs. The role centers on keeping activities on track, resolving issues quickly, and maintaining strong alignment among internal teams and external partners.
What You Will Do
- Provide technical leadership across viral vector manufacturing, analytics, quality, regulatory, and supply functions.
- Shape late-stage submission and launch preparation by turning strategy into practical CMC plans.
- Advance commercial supply chain readiness, including secondary packaging and 3PL/4PL operating models.
- Create and sustain CMC guidance, decision tools, and frameworks while mentoring and managing senior CMC leaders, both directly and indirectly.
- Handle complex technical and organizational issues through clear, persuasive communication.
Required Background
- Hands-on experience with late-stage submissions and launch preparation in biopharma, ideally in gene therapy.
- Strong command of CMC fundamentals, including CQAs and CPPs, along with a strategic approach to program optimization.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple countries and functions.
Working Style
The role is fully remote and follows an Eastern Time schedule, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Day-to-day work involves prioritizing the most critical CMC items, managing timelines and risks, coordinating across sites, and working closely with CDMOs, packaging providers, logistics partners, and other external collaborators. The position requires steady communication, quick issue resolution, and support for teams so programs can continue moving forward efficiently.

The salary range for this position is $240,000 to $270,000.
