Generative AI Engineer

Role overview

We are looking for an AI Engineer / Generative AI Engineer to join the team in Kochi, Kerala. This is a full-time, onsite role suited to someone with 2 to 4 years of experience in building AI-driven products using large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic AI.

The right candidate will have strong Python skills and practical experience creating intelligent applications that address real business needs.

What you will do

• Develop, enhance, and support generative AI applications built on large language models.
• Create and refine RAG-based systems for information lookup and question-answering scenarios.
• Build agentic AI solutions that can reason, plan, use tools, and automate workflows.
• Design AI assistants, copilots, and conversational experiences.
• Connect AI products with external APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
• Build backend services and APIs that can scale with AI workloads.
• Set up data intake, processing, and knowledge organization pipelines.
• Implement semantic search and vector search for fast and relevant retrieval.
• Evaluate models, improve prompts, and tune application performance.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify and deliver AI-based business solutions.
• Keep current with new developments in generative AI, LLMs, and agentic systems.

Skills and experience needed

• Strong Python development capability.
• Experience building REST APIs and backend systems.
• Understanding of software design principles and Git-based version control.
• Hands-on knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, structured outputs, function/tool calling, context handling, and model evaluation.
• Awareness of AI reliability practices and guardrails.
• Practical experience with RAG, agentic AI, multi-agent systems, workflow automation, conversational AI, and knowledge retrieval.
• Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, hybrid search, and data transformation.
• Working knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, vector, and graph databases.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is an advantage.
• Experience with managed AI services, model hosting, Docker, enterprise integrations, document intelligence, extraction, automation, scalable design, and distributed systems is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Prior experience deploying AI applications in production is preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
