The Inside Sales Representative will support ecobee’s professional channel by building relationships with distributors and contractors, generating sales opportunities, and helping customers succeed with the company’s SmartBuildings solutions. This position sits within the Sales Enablement function and is responsible for a defined territory and account portfolio that contributes to channel growth and performance.

The role combines direct selling, customer success, pre-sales support, virtual training, and return merchandise authorization (RMA) coordination. Key responsibilities

  • Run inbound and outbound sales outreach to uncover opportunities, assess leads, and help achieve territory goals alongside the Regional Sales Managers.
  • Own direct sales and customer success work for the SmartBuildings line, including lead screening, virtual product demos, hardware ordering support, onboarding, and post-sale follow-up to support successful adoption.
  • Manage a designated account set to increase sell-in, product usage, and revenue growth across the channel.
  • Deliver virtual contractor training and partner onboarding so new and existing partners can confidently sell and install ecobee products.
  • Oversee RMA handling for assigned territories, including return requests, credit resolution, and communication with partners in coordination with Operations and Finance.
  • Share accurate product, program, pricing, and promotion information aligned with current channel and marketing activity.
  • Keep Salesforce records current with sales activity, account details, and pipeline updates to maintain visibility into coverage and partner engagement.
  • Spot process improvements, contribute partner feedback, and support enablement efforts that improve sales outcomes and customer experience.

Minimum qualifications

This role calls for post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer success, or account management, along with a track record of building customer or partner relationships through proactive outreach and consistent follow-up.

Applicants should be comfortable with consultative or multi-step sales cycles, communicate clearly in virtual settings, and maintain professional relationships remotely. Strong organization, prioritization, and attention to detail are important, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through reliably. Experience using CRM software such as Salesforce and productivity tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook is expected. Compensation and benefits

The Toronto-based salary range for this role is CAD 65,500 to CAD 70,950 in total compensation.
