About the school
Tambrey Primary School in Karratha is building a talent pool for Mainstream Education Assistant roles. The pool covers permanent and fixed-term positions, both full-time and part-time, that may become available during the 2026 school year through to the end of Term 2, 2027. Suitable candidates may be appointed at any point within that period when vacancies arise.
The school, established in 1989, takes its name from Tambrey Station, one of the district’s earliest cattle stations. It serves families from Nickol and Nickol West and educates around 700 students from a wide mix of social and cultural backgrounds.

The role
In this position, you will support the delivery of planned learning programs that contribute to the growth and development of students. The work involves collaborating with others in a team setting and assisting with individual or small-group learning activities.
You will need strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, along with the ability to help maintain students’ health and wellbeing. Good organisation, initiative, and practical support in preparing and maintaining the learning environment are also important.
You will work under teacher direction and help ensure the classroom setting is inclusive, relevant, and safe. As your skills, experience and confidence grow, you may be given some autonomy appropriate to your level of competence.

Eligibility
To be employed in this role, you must have the right to work in Australia or New Zealand as a citizen, permanent resident, or visa holder with valid work rights for the duration of the appointment. You must also obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting, and agree to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check as well as a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before commencement.
