About the organisation
Sharesies is a fast-growing technology company in New Zealand with a mission to solve complex, tightly regulated challenges at scale so more people can grow their wealth and confidence with money.
The company’s culture is ambitious yet practical. Engineers are expected to question assumptions, dig into the reasons behind decisions, and focus on outcomes that create genuine value. The organisation is structured with relatively few layers, advancement is tied to capability rather than years served, and there is a strong emphasis on balancing healthy pressure with care for people.
Sharesies has recently been recognised as one of the best workplaces in New Zealand and is described as an especially exciting place to work in 2026.
About the role
Sharesies is seeking an experienced Platform / PaaS Developer to join its Platform as a Service team. The group sits at the heart of developer experience and service enablement, providing the tools and infrastructure that help the business launch new products quickly and safely.
With solid foundations already established, the next phase is centered on self-service infrastructure, AI-supported developer workflows, and scalable golden paths that strengthen performance, reliability, and operational excellence.
You will work within a team of six, including a lead, staff engineers, and senior engineers, and collaborate across the wider engineering organisation to design and build internal platforms, guardrails, and tooling that reduce friction and improve delivery speed.
What you will do
- Develop and enhance internal platform tools and services
- Create self-service infrastructure that helps teams move faster
- Build observability, performance, and reliability into platform foundations
- Help shape AI-assisted workflows and operational improvements
- Work closely with engineering teams to support adoption and alignment
- Contribute to the direction of platform engineering across Sharesies
