Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Assistant position based in the Greater Perth Area. The role supports the pharmacist and front-of-house operations by helping customers, sharing basic product information, and assisting with prescription-related tasks under supervision.
Key duties
In this role, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the pharmacy through customer service, stock control, and general administrative support.
- Assist customers at the counter and respond to routine questions in a helpful, professional manner.
- Provide general information about products and support prescription dispensing activities when directed by the pharmacist.
- Replenish shelves, monitor stock levels, and check items for expiry dates.
- Keep inventory areas tidy and organized so products are easy to access and manage.
- Answer incoming calls, handle queries politely, and route calls to the right team member when needed.
- Confirm or arrange medication pick-ups using clear and courteous phone communication.
- Carry out basic administrative and point-of-sale tasks, including processing payments and maintaining customer records.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.
What you need
Applicants should bring strong customer service ability, good attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a pharmacy environment while following safety and confidentiality expectations.
- Confident customer service and communication skills, with a friendly approach to a wide range of people.
- Some understanding of pharmacy processes or experience assisting with prescription-related work under supervision.
- Ability to keep stock organised, restock products, and manage shelving or storage areas effectively.
- Professional telephone manner and comfort handling questions and call transfers.
- Dependability, accuracy, and a strong focus on safety and confidentiality.
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn point-of-sale and pharmacy software.
- Prior exposure to pharmacy, healthcare, or retail work is helpful.
- Pharmacy assistant training or a related certification would be an advantage.
