Daily Store Operations
- Take charge of the store’s everyday functioning and support both production and site installation requirements.
- Accept incoming tools, materials, and consumables, then label, arrange, and issue them in a prompt and orderly manner.
- Keep all items stored neatly, clearly identified, and simple to retrieve when needed.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and well-kept store environment at all times.
- Follow a 5-day work week.
Issuance and Tracking
- Monitor the usage of regularly consumed items such as adhesives, blades, and sealants, and keep records updated.
- Maintain either a manual register or digital log for materials and tools issued to employees or specific jobs.
- Track the return of reusable tools and equipment.
System Setup and Process Improvement
- Support management in creating a basic inventory tracking method using Excel, handwritten logs, or software.
- Suggest better ways to organise the store, improve labelling, and streamline processes for stronger efficiency and accountability.
- Help define minimum and maximum stock levels for important consumables.
Stock Monitoring and Replenishment
- Carry out regular stock counts and flag items that are running low.
- Prepare advance purchase requests for tools and materials that are used often.
- Work with Procurement or Purchasing colleagues to make sure restocking happens on time.
Tool Care and Reporting
- Identify and report any missing or damaged tools.
- Ensure equipment is stored and handled correctly to reduce loss, damage, or misuse.
- Maintain records for high-value tools issued to individuals or teams.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a store or stockroom position, ideally within construction, fabrication, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of tools and materials used in stone or worktop fabrication will be a strong plus.
- Must be able to work on your own and take ownership of tasks responsibly.
- Comfortable with manual handling of items, within safe limits.
- Good working knowledge of Excel or straightforward inventory log systems.
- Well-organised, dependable, and attentive to detail.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in creating or improving manual stock control systems.
- Exposure to adhesives, abrasives, blades, and similar fabrication or installation materials.
- Forklift licence or experience using store equipment would be an added advantage.
