Role Overview

Beacon AI is looking for a Frontend Web App Engineer to create high-value web interfaces that connect to its flight safety platform. You will partner with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to build user-facing experiences for complex aviation data. The role offers hands-on production work, opportunities to strengthen your technical abilities, and a chance to contribute directly to safer and more efficient flight operations.

What You’ll Do

• Create and ship React-driven features for web applications that handle both live and historical aviation data.
• Pull together information from several sources, including real-time streams and stored datasets, then process and display it clearly.
• Work side by side with backend engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to define and deliver features.
• Participate in code reviews and apply established frontend engineering practices and architecture patterns.
• Improve reliability and long-term supportability of frontend systems through testing and documentation.
• Build reusable UI components and contribute to shared frontend libraries.

What Will Make You Successful

• At least 2 years of experience creating user-facing web applications, or comparable experience gained through internships, projects, or coursework.
• Hands-on knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern HTML/CSS standards.
• Comfort working with asynchronous frontend flows and APIs or streaming data.
• Strong analytical thinking and a willingness to learn from guidance and feedback.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment that moves quickly.
• Care for code quality, performance, and maintainability.

Bonus Points

• Interest in aviation and in helping improve air travel safety and efficiency.
• Experience with mapping or geospatial tools such as Mapbox or Cesium.
• Exposure to live data or video streaming concepts.

Work Location

This position is hybrid based in San Carlos, CA. The role requires 3 or more days onsite each week, with remote work available on the remaining days.
