Role overview

This role is for a senior VMware Infrastructure Specialist to support enterprise transformation work across the APAC region. The assignment focuses on large-scale VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX-T, and virtualization platforms used in banking, telecom, and cloud service provider environments.

Work location and setup

The position is based in Singapore and may involve work from client sites as well as remote support across the APAC region.

This is a full-time, project-based opportunity.

Experience level

The role calls for a senior professional with at least 7 years of relevant hands-on VMware infrastructure experience.

Eligibility

Only Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents are eligible to be considered.

Key responsibilities

• Provide VMware advisory and enterprise infrastructure delivery services.
• Architect, implement, tune, and support VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Build and administer VMware NSX-T network virtualization and security platforms.
• Carry out migration work from NSX-V to NSX-T in production enterprise environments.
• Deploy, maintain, and resolve issues in VMware vSAN infrastructures.
• Support VMware vRealize components such as vROps, vRLI, vRNI, vRA, vRSLCM, and Workspace ONE Access.
• Manage VMware upgrades across vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and vCloud Director platforms.
• Support telco NFV setups and distributed multi-site data center environments.
• Integrate VMware platforms with tools and products such as Palo Alto, F5, AlgoSec, and Splunk.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational runbooks, UAT support materials, and knowledge transfer sessions.

Required background

• 7 or more years of direct, practical experience implementing VMware infrastructure solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation 4.x and 5.x.
• Deep expertise in VMware NSX-T 3.x and 4.x, plus NSX-V.
• Solid experience with vSphere 6.x, 7.x, and 8.x.
• Hands-on capability with VMware vSAN and the VMware vRealize suite.
• Demonstrated success in enterprise NSX migration initiatives.
• Strong troubleshooting ability across virtualization, networking, storage, and compute layers.
• Experience in banking or telecom environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in client-facing engagements.

Preferred certifications

Preferred qualifications include VCP-DCV, VCP-NV for NSX-V or NSX-T, VCAP or VCIX credentials, as well as vSAN Specialist and vROps Specialist certifications.
