This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys a fast-moving environment, solving problems, and coordinating many workstreams while building long-term project management expertise.

You will partner with senior project managers, engineers, clients, contractors, and field personnel to keep work organized, on schedule, and progressing smoothly. The position offers practical exposure to the full project lifecycle, with increasing responsibility over time. The role is generally 80% office-based and 20% field-based, and requires travel to project sites within a 1–3 hour radius of the reporting location.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers in handling several active projects from start through completion.
  • Review early project scopes and help create work plans with engineering teams and clients.
  • Coordinate outage requests and sequencing plans with internal teams and contractors.
  • Support procurement efforts for both major and minor materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate review and submission of environmental and non-environmental permits.
  • Help assemble RFP packages, scopes of work, baseline schedules, and bid materials.
  • Take part in contractor bid reviews and award recommendation discussions.
  • Help run or support pre-construction and project progress meetings.
  • Monitor schedules, milestones, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Keep project records organized and use client systems for tracking and reporting.
  • Share updates on schedule, costs, procurement, safety, and construction progress.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and field teams.
  • Spend time in the field to remain connected to progress and better understand project scope.
  • Work closely with schedulers and project teams to maintain detailed schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in project coordination or construction project management.
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with teams, clients, and stakeholders from different functions.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background supporting utility, transmission line, substation, or telecommunications projects.
  • Experience with scheduling tools or project management software.
  • Exposure to project budgets, forecasts, or procurement coordination.
  • PMP certification, or an interest in pursuing project management credentials.
  • Interest in expanding technical knowledge in substations, transmission lines, or telecommunications.

Additional Information

The employer encourages applicants who may not meet every listed qualification but are motivated, collaborative, and interested in contributing to a supportive and innovative team. Potential, diverse perspectives, and enthusiasm for the role are all valued.
