Role Overview
This contract Category Manager role is based in Denver, CO and focuses on sourcing, supplier coordination, and contract management across several active initiatives. The position calls for someone who can combine strategic planning with practical execution in a fast-moving environment.
Contracting and Negotiation
- Drive discussions, finalization, and execution of master service agreements as well as project-specific contracts.
- Oversee contract progression from start to finish across multiple parallel workstreams.
- Make sure commercial terms support category objectives, reduce risk, and meet business needs.
- Work closely with internal teams to review contract language, improve terms, and complete agreement approvals.
Strategic Sourcing
- Lead sourcing activities from beginning to end, including RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Create sourcing approaches that match category priorities and current market conditions.
- Assess supplier submissions, manage competitive bidding, and prepare award recommendations.
- Use structured sourcing practices, including the seven-step sourcing process.
Stakeholder and Supplier Management
- Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify needs and shape sourcing plans accordingly.
- Communicate with external vendors throughout sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Contribute to shared initiatives within sourcing and category management teams.
Operational Execution
- Handle several sourcing events and contracts at the same time while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
- Balance high-level category thinking with day-to-day delivery work.
- Provide input on pricing, lead times, and broader supply-market conditions.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate should bring experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, along with strong contract negotiation and contract administration skills. Hands-on experience managing RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes from start to finish is expected, as well as familiarity with structured sourcing methods. Experience procuring both equipment and services is also needed, along with a solid grasp of commercial terms, pricing structures, and supplier evaluation.
