Role overview

An established custom machining and fabrication business is looking for a Cost Estimator to help produce accurate, fast, and competitive quotes for custom work. This is a permanent, full-time onsite position based in Montgomery County, PA, with a direct line to the company president and close collaboration with two other estimators.

Compensation and benefits

The pay rate for this role is $32 to $44 per hour. In addition, there is more than 7 hours of overtime available each week. The benefits package includes a 401(k) with company match, insurance coverage, holidays, vacation time, and personal days.

What you will do

• Analyze customer drawings and translate them into practical manufacturing steps that align with the customer’s specifications.
• Identify the necessary work centers, sequence of operations, setup and run times, and material requirements with a high level of accuracy.
• Request pricing from material vendors and outside process partners such as plating, painting, silk screening, and heat treating when needed.
• Speak directly with customers to resolve questions and clarify requirements during the estimating and quoting process.
• Keep thorough notes and documentation so production teams can execute the job smoothly across all involved work centers.
