About the Team

WeChat reaches more than 1.3 billion users around the world and continues to influence how people communicate, interact with services, and connect with businesses. The operations team in Singapore focuses on extending and supporting WeChat’s core experiences, including messaging and social networking, for users outside mainland China. This role offers the chance to contribute to a platform with global reach while learning from real user behavior and product usage patterns.

Internship Overview

This internship is a paid opportunity that runs for at least 12 weeks. Interns will work closely with experienced members of the WeChat operations team, receive mentorship from senior colleagues, and take part in practical project work involving new features and data-driven initiatives. By the end of the program, interns are expected to understand WeChat’s operating principles more deeply, deliver analytical projects independently, and work effectively with teams across product, engineering, and legal functions.

What You Will Do

• Work with large datasets to spot trends, uncover business opportunities, and improve platform performance.
• Create dashboards and visual reporting tools that monitor important metrics and turn data into practical product recommendations.
• Build reliable and scalable data pipelines that support analytics, operational decisions, and security-related work.
• Partner with teams across product, engineering, operations, and security to convert analysis into business actions and product enhancements.
• Use AI tools and technologies such as LLMs, copilots, and data assistants to speed up analysis, reduce manual work, and improve decision-making while still applying strong data engineering and analytics fundamentals.
• Experiment with AI-based approaches for automated exploration, report creation, and intelligent insight generation.

What We Are Looking For

• You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• You bring solid experience in analytics and data engineering, including pipeline development, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
• You are comfortable using SQL and Python and have worked with large-scale data environments such as Hive, Spark, or similar platforms.
• You have built dashboards or reporting solutions using tools like Tableau, Power BI, Superset, or comparable software.
• You understand AI-assisted analysis methods, including prompt design, context handling, and workflow integration.
• Experience with RAG, AI agents, MCP frameworks, or related AI infrastructure is considered an advantage.
• You can break complex challenges into clear analytical steps and solve them systematically.
• You learn quickly, stay curious about new technologies, and take initiative with a strong sense of ownership.
