Role Summary
We are looking for a full-time Data Center Architect in Dublin with a hybrid setup that blends on-site teamwork with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. In this position, you will plan and document complete data center solutions covering compute, storage, networking, and the supporting physical environment. The role focuses on creating secure, scalable, high-performing, and resilient architectures that align with client goals and industry standards.
What You Will Do
- Evaluate client requirements and turn them into practical data center architecture solutions.
- Create both conceptual and detailed designs for data center environments.
- Prepare clear technical specifications, diagrams, and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to capacity planning, lifecycle planning, and long-term infrastructure strategy.
- Work with engineering, construction, IT operations, and vendor teams to align delivery with project needs.
- Ensure solutions are secure, compliant, cost-efficient, and aligned with established best practices.
- Support proposal development and help shape solution roadmaps.
- Provide technical direction during implementation, testing, and commissioning activities.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep knowledge of data center architecture and solution architecture for secure, scalable, and resilient environments.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure planning, including power, cooling, rack arrangements, cabling, and physical security.
- Practical experience with data center networking concepts such as routing, switching, load balancing, and segmentation.
- Ability to convert business and technical needs into detailed architectural plans and documentation.
- Experience in capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
- Awareness of key standards and practices such as Tier classifications, ASHRAE guidance, and uptime/reliability principles.
- Good stakeholder management skills and the confidence to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; higher qualifications or certifications in data center, networking, or cloud technologies are considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, documentation skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience in consulting, construction planning, or major infrastructure projects is a plus.
