Role Overview

Universitätsklinikum Würzburg is seeking a Data Scientist to support research-driven work in a clinical environment. The position focuses on advanced analytics, machine learning, and the evaluation of complex health and research datasets.

Your Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out data science analyses on extensive longitudinal research datasets.
• Prepare, process, and evaluate voice-related datasets.
• Build and apply statistical and machine learning methods to detect and verify digital biomarkers.
• Work with care and health service data using modern data science approaches.
• Run exploratory machine learning studies for pattern recognition, hypothesis generation, and model development.
• Contribute to scientific papers, reports, and funding-related projects.

Your Profile

• You hold a completed university-level degree at master’s, diploma, or an equivalent level in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Computational Linguistics, or a related discipline.
• You bring strong knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning.
• You have solid programming experience.
• You work independently, in a structured manner, and with strong attention to detail.
• You have experience handling large, complex, and ideally longitudinal datasets.
• Experience with multimodal data processing is an advantage, especially speech, audio, or sensor data.
• You are familiar with scientific working methods.
• You communicate confidently in German or English, both spoken and written.

Pay is governed by the applicable collective agreements.
