Role overview
This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner employer, which will handle applications and the rest of the hiring process. The company is seeking a Data Specialist located in Australia.
The role centers on taking ownership of the full data stack, from pipelines and analytics to reporting, within a fully remote global setup. You will build dependable data flows, create scalable dashboards, and protect the accuracy of reporting that supports day-to-day and strategic business decisions. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will turn raw information into clear insights and help the organization strengthen its data quality, analytics capability, and decision-making speed. The position is highly autonomous, fast-paced, and suited to someone who takes initiative, spots issues early, and drives improvements with precision.
What you'll do
- Oversee and improve the full lifecycle of data pipelines and warehouse processes, using ETL tools such as Stitch and Google BigQuery.
- Create, update, and support dashboards and reporting assets in Looker Studio for business intelligence use across the organization.
- Own the setup, accuracy, and monitoring of Google Analytics 4, including event tracking, verification, and consistent reporting.
- Run thorough data checks and QA routines to keep reporting outputs accurate, dependable, and aligned across systems.
- Continuously watch data movement to catch irregularities, diagnose problems, and fix them before they affect business decisions.
- Prepare tailored reports and ad hoc analysis for teams across the business.
- Work with engineers and internal stakeholders to enhance data architecture, tracking, and reporting processes.
- Keep work organized through clear documentation, task management, and structured communication using tools such as Trello and Slack.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of experience in a data analyst, data specialist, or analytics-oriented role. You should have practical exposure to ETL and pipeline tools such as Stitch or similar platforms, along with hands-on experience using Google BigQuery as a data warehouse.
Strong capability in Looker Studio is important, including dashboard development and the use of advanced calculated metrics or reporting logic. Experience with Google Analytics 4 is preferred, especially in relation to event tracking, implementation, and interpreting user behavior data.
You should be comfortable validating datasets, checking dashboard outputs, and maintaining data accuracy from source to report. The role also calls for strong analytical thinking, the ability to identify patterns and anomalies, and experience turning complex data into useful business insights. Excellent organization, independent task management in a remote environment, and clear, responsive communication are all essential.
Benefits
- Work fully remotely with flexibility across global time zones.
- Have direct influence on data-informed decisions throughout the business.
- Enjoy a high level of ownership over analytics and data systems.
- Use modern tools and technologies in the data stack.
- Be part of a lean, agile environment with minimal bureaucracy and a strong execution focus.
- Work in a culture that values experimentation and ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with a distributed international team.
- Help create scalable analytics foundations from the ground up.
