DevOps Team Lead

Role overview

This position is for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer who will steer infrastructure and automation as the organization grows. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with proven leadership skills, helping define the DevOps direction, strengthen team performance, and drive initiatives that improve deployment, security, and system administration across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Set and own the DevOps delivery plan, ensuring it supports broader business goals and product or project expansion.
• Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure for hybrid and multi-cloud setups.
• Coach, develop, and support a team of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers while promoting accountability and technical quality.
• Guide the design and improvement of CI/CD workflows across different teams and services.
• Promote strong practices around monitoring, incident handling, disaster recovery, and infrastructure stability.
• Lead post-incident analysis and convert findings into practical long-term improvements.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies that increase reliability, automation, and scalability.
• Work closely with security, engineering, and product stakeholders to improve platform resilience and delivery speed.
• Review infrastructure and DevOps spending on a quarterly basis and identify optimization opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or people-management role.
• Proven ability to lead DevOps programs and scale teams in a SaaS or project-based environment.
• Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and Pulumi, along with cloud-native platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Strong background in Kubernetes and security automation aligned with DevSecOps practices.
• Experience designing highly available systems, zero-downtime releases, and self-healing infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of compliance standards such as SOC2 and ISO, plus cloud cost management.
• Solid understanding of both Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Good grasp of networking principles and best practices.
• Strong ability to build teams, mentor talent, and raise overall capability.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term planning and day-to-day execution.
• Clear and confident communicator who works well across functions and performs effectively under pressure.
