About the Company
Custom Dredge Works, Inc. is a recognized maker of dredging equipment with a focus on innovation and high standards in the maritime sector. The company is looking for a detail-oriented Drafter/Detailer to strengthen its engineering team and support the creation of quality dredging machinery.
Role Overview
In this full-time drafting role, you will assist the engineering group by producing precise technical drawings and plans for dredging equipment. You will partner with engineers and other colleagues to ensure each design aligns with customer needs and industry requirements.
Key Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings with CAD tools.
- Prepare accurate schematics and technical plans from engineering inputs.
- Modify and refresh drawings whenever design changes are introduced.
- Work with engineers to shape and improve design ideas.
- Confirm that all drawings follow company standards and relevant industry rules.
- Keep drawing files and related records well organized.
- Prepare bills of materials and supporting project paperwork.
Qualifications
- An associate degree or technical diploma in drafting, CAD, or a related discipline is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience may be accepted instead of a technical degree.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or comparable CAD software.
- Prior drafting or detailing experience, ideally in manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong focus on accuracy and fine detail.
- Ability to perform well both independently and as part of a team.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to understand complex technical material.
- Exposure to dredging equipment or the maritime industry would be an added advantage.
