Role overview

Trayd Australia Pty Ltd, a WA-owned business based in Perth and operating for nearly 20 years, is seeking a commercially minded Estimator to support its commercial building and maintenance work across Perth Metro. The company delivers end-to-end building, maintenance, construction and repair solutions, aiming to take ownership of jobs so clients can avoid dealing with multiple contractors.

This position is suited to someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, client interaction and converting enquiries into successful projects. You will handle opportunities from the first enquiry through quoting, follow-up, conversion and handover to operations.

What the role involves

• Visiting sites to assess project needs and scope.
• Producing accurate estimates that are commercially viable.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Spotting extra work opportunities and potential value-add items.
• Managing quotation pipelines and supporting conversion of enquiries into jobs.
• Contributing to tenders, proposals and other commercial submissions.
• Working closely with the operations team to support successful delivery.

Experience and capabilities

The company values attitude, accountability and a willingness to learn alongside hands-on estimating experience. The successful candidate should be proactive, commercially aware and focused on achieving strong outcomes for both customers and the business.

• Background in estimating within construction, maintenance or building services.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, scopes and technical documents.
• Sound commercial judgement and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
• Good organisation and time management.
• Experience preparing quotes, tenders or proposals.
• Comfort working with suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
• Good computer literacy and general systems capability.
• Experience with AroFlo or a similar job management platform is highly regarded.
• Trade experience or broader construction industry exposure is also highly regarded.
