Godrej Consumer Products is a leading company in emerging markets and is part of the 125+ year-old Godrej Group, known for its values of trust, integrity, and respect.
What the role involves
In this position, you will take ownership of master data for general trade distribution and discontinued SKUs, strengthen data governance, and improve the quality and reliability of planning inputs. You will also contribute to the O9 planning environment, support primary logistics analytics, and assist with SLOB and liquidation work. As the distribution model changes and system complexity increases, the role will be important in ensuring clean data, strong visibility, and reliable decision support.
Key responsibilities
- Manage master data for general trade distribution, including the lifecycle of discontinued SKUs.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, completeness, and governance across all related systems.
- Help establish a stable, process-driven approach to data management.
- Work with commercial and supply chain teams to keep distribution master data updated with live business changes.
- Handle data inputs, configuration, and business rules in the O9 planning platform.
- Test O9 outputs thoroughly and check planning assumptions against actual field conditions.
- Continuously improve data quality in O9 and evaluate how issues affect planning results downstream.
- Collaborate with O9 implementation and business stakeholders to identify and fix data gaps or inconsistencies.
- Own analytics for primary logistics and create automated reporting and tracking tools.
- Share insights that support logistics planning, cost reduction, and service performance.
- Analyze slow-moving and obsolete inventory to identify risk areas and liquidation opportunities.
- Build and maintain dashboards for SLOB tracking, ageing inventory, and liquidation progress.
- Partner with commercial and supply planning teams on liquidation planning and execution.
- Develop and maintain operational dashboards for logistics, SLOB, O9 outputs, and distribution metrics.
- Standardize reporting formats and ensure senior stakeholders receive timely, accurate updates.
- Spot data visibility gaps early and recommend practical fixes.
- Support revalidation of regional warehouse locations based on network changes.
- Assess warehouse efficiency, coverage, and optimisation opportunities using network data.
- Prepare data-backed recommendations for warehouse footprint decisions.
Requirements
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification in supply chain management, operations, business analytics, or a similar field.
- 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in supply chain operations, data management, or logistics analytics.
- Hands-on SAP experience is required for master data and transactional data handling.
- Working exposure to O9 Solutions or a comparable supply chain planning tool is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, macros, and data modelling.
- Experience with SLOB management, inventory analytics, or liquidation work is a strong plus.
- Strong ability to present data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working across commercial, logistics, and planning teams.
- Structured problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- High sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to formalise informal workflows.
- Sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
