Fish Processing Plant Worker

Overview

This role is based at the employer's physical facility in Harbour Main, Newfoundland and Labrador, and must be performed on site. Remote work is not available.

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.

Experience

Previous experience is considered an advantage, but it is not mandatory.

Work Site Environment

• The work setting is noisy.
• Conditions are wet or damp.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fish or seafood for sale or additional processing by cutting, cleaning, and trimming them.
• Inspect product quality and packaging, make sure standards are met, and adjust machinery when needed.
• Measure fish or shellfish, note the weight, and pack the product in ice.
• Keep machines and the surrounding work area clean.

Experience and Specialization

Experience in field work within Newfoundland is noted. Familiarity with fish cleaning and cutting machines, fish meal processing equipment, and fish product machinery is an asset.
