Role overview
This position is for an experienced HR leader to manage the complete HR function across the Singapore and Malaysia businesses. The role works closely with commercial and functional leaders to support people strategy, payroll, employee experience, talent programs, and regulatory adherence while helping maintain a healthy, productive workplace.
The ideal candidate is someone who can combine strategic HR partnership with strong day-to-day execution and operational discipline.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside business leaders on workforce planning and people-focused strategies.
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and HR policy application.
- Support the entire employee journey, including onboarding, internal moves, promotions, and exits.
- Manage end-to-end payroll for Singapore and Malaysia via external payroll providers.
- Check payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, and on-time processing.
- Administer employee benefits, tax submissions, leave processes, and insurance matters.
- Assist with annual compensation reviews, bonus cycles, and promotion exercises.
- Drive performance management and wider talent development efforts.
- Support succession planning and learning and development programs.
- Coordinate with Talent Acquisition on hiring plans and recruitment needs.
- Lead engagement activities and initiatives that strengthen company culture.
- Handle employee relations cases such as investigations, complaints, and disciplinary matters.
- Work with stakeholders to improve the overall employee experience.
- Ensure HR practices comply with Singapore and Malaysia employment laws and internal policies.
- Maintain HR systems, personnel records, and HR-related reports.
- Contribute to process improvements, audits, and digital HR initiatives.
- Oversee office administration, workplace support services, and vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong background in HR operations.
- Experience handling payroll for Singapore and Malaysia.
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience dealing with employee relations matters.
- Practical experience working with outsourced payroll vendors.
- Good understanding of Singapore and Malaysia employment laws, statutory obligations, and payroll rules.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Well-organized, analytical, and detail-focused.
- Comfortable operating in a regional, matrixed organization.
