Logistics Manager

About the role

Prima PMI is looking for a capable Logistics Manager to join its team in Noble Park, Victoria. The business is part of the District Photo Group and operates within a wider international network across the US, UK, Europe, and Australia. It is a growing, fast-moving organisation seeking a commercially aware logistics professional who can help shape the next stage of development.

This position plays an important part in the business by overseeing carrier partnerships, driving logistics improvements, and helping the company get the best return from a significant carrier spend.

Key responsibilities

• Guide and support the Logistics Administrator and Logistics Analyst while improving and simplifying logistics processes across both businesses.
• Maintain productive relationships with carrier partners, including regular in-person meetings to assess performance, resolve issues, and encourage ongoing improvements.
• Run Request for Proposal (RFP) activities to secure strong service levels and commercial value across products and shipping lanes.
• Review product and shipping specifications to make sure materials and packaging meet business needs.
• Create and improve shipping rules and strategies that increase efficiency and lower freight costs.
• Spot opportunities to streamline operations, reduce expenses, and strengthen the logistics function overall.
• Work closely with internal teams to support growth and deliver practical logistics solutions.

What we're looking for

• Strong Excel ability and confidence working with complex data to support commercial and strategic decisions.
• Good knowledge of the logistics and carrier market, including major players and the services they provide.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence others, build relationships, and handle difficult discussions.
• A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in finding better, smarter ways to work.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to balance day-to-day delivery and commercial results.
• A collaborative attitude and a clear appreciation for teamwork.

Preferred background

• Formal study or training in Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Existing connections within the carrier industry.
• Experience with shipment costing and freight analysis.
• Previous account management experience.
