Role overview
BAM UK & Ireland is looking for a Planner to support its building team in East Meath, County Meath. The role sits within a company focused on delivering sustainable infrastructure and high-quality buildings, with an emphasis on career development, collaboration, and meaningful project work.
Key duties
- Create and manage project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta.
- Track project advancement and measure performance against the programme.
- Prepare progress updates and reporting for stakeholders.
- Work closely with site managers, design teams, and contractors to align schedules.
- Maintain and interpret the contractual programme throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and identify deviations from plan.
- Develop and review KPIs to support project control.
- Take off quantities from drawings to support progress reporting.
- Help integrate project programmes into BIM models for 4D planning.
- Provide practical strategic input to support safeguarding, growth, and development.
- Contribute as a flexible team member, taking on work as needed.

Candidate profile
- A relevant degree or diploma in engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of previous planning experience is preferred.
- Background in planning within the building construction sector; main contractor experience is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and lead times.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Able to work across multiple disciplines on building projects.
- Technically strong with a solid grasp of drawings, specifications, BOQs, critical path programming, and network analysis.
- Capable of performing under pressure and meeting demanding deadlines.
- Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively within an integrated team.
- Highly organised, detail-focused, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Full driving licence required.
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland and fluent in English.
