Planning Engineer

Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site Planning Engineer position in Doha. The role is focused on building and maintaining project schedules, resource plans, and timelines for facility management and related assignments, while keeping delivery aligned with contractual and operational needs.

What you will do

• Prepare, update, and manage project schedules, resource plans, and timelines.
• Track project progress and compare actual performance against the plan.
• Review deviations, identify delays or variances, and help drive corrective actions.
• Maintain planning tools and produce reports that support project control and decision-making.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance, procurement, and management teams to improve resource use and reduce delays.
• Support risk identification and contribute to continuous improvements in planning and reporting methods.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, allocating resources, and monitoring progress.
• Strong ability to analyze project information, spot risks, and recommend practical solutions to protect timelines.
• Background in project control, including reporting, progress tracking, risk identification, and corrective action follow-up.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with teams, stakeholders, and clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Comfort using planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or similar software, along with advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience in facility management, construction, or industrial projects will be an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving ability; contract negotiation knowledge, especially FIDIC or similar frameworks, is highly preferred.
• Exposure to planning for pool construction and landscaping projects is a plus.
• Must be able to work on-site in Doha, handle priorities effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of detail in a busy environment.
