Role Overview
The Project Engineer will assist the Construction Manager in organizing, coordinating, and driving all site activities. The position is responsible for helping ensure that construction work is executed safely, completed on schedule and within budget, and aligned with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality expectations. The role serves as an important technical connector among the site team, QA/QC, planning, procurement, subcontractors, and consultants.
Site Execution and Coordination
- Oversee routine construction operations on site and keep daily activities moving efficiently.
- Liaise with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to keep work coordinated.
- Study and explain IFC drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Confirm that execution follows approved drawings and overall project requirements.
Planning and Progress Control
- Work with the Planning Engineer on weekly and monthly progress submissions.
- Develop short-term look-ahead schedules and flag potential delays early.
- Recommend corrective or recovery measures to protect project timelines.
- Track manpower, material, and equipment usage to support planned productivity.
Technical and Engineering Support
- Offer practical technical guidance when site challenges arise.
- Raise RFIs whenever information is missing, unclear, or requires clarification.
- Ensure method statements and inspection/test plans are implemented correctly.
Materials and Procurement Follow-Up
- Carry out material quantity take-offs and support material request preparation.
- Coordinate closely with procurement to secure timely deliveries.
- Check that delivered materials match approved MIRs and project specifications.
Quality Assurance
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams so checks happen on time.
- Maintain compliance with the QCP, ITPs, and project-specific requirements.
- Address quality concerns promptly and work to reduce rework.
Health, Safety and Environment
- Support the enforcement of HSE procedures throughout the site.
- Work with HSE personnel to eliminate unsafe behaviors and practices.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare daily and weekly progress updates.
- Maintain site diaries, material registers, inspection records, and work logs.
- Assist with as-built drawing preparation and project handover records.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
- Participate in technical and progress meetings and present status updates.
- Help resolve site-level disputes and technical issues.
Qualifications and Professional Background
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required. The ideal candidate should have prior experience working as a Project Engineer on building or villa construction projects. Strong knowledge of civil works, structural works, MEP coordination, and finishing activities is important. Experience with main contractors in the UAE will be preferred. Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office is needed, and knowledge of Primavera P6 will be considered an advantage.

The role calls for solid construction-method knowledge, strong communication and coordination ability, leadership potential, problem-solving skills, and the capability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines. Good documentation and reporting skills are also essential.
