Role Overview
Chinese Palace Group is hiring a Restaurant Supervisor for the opening of Momofuku Abu Dhabi at The Grove, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi. Momofuku, originally launched in New York City by Chef David Chang, is known for its modern Asian-American cuisine, energetic dining environment, open-kitchen concept, hip-hop-inspired atmosphere, and a service style that values personality and authenticity over rigid scripts.
This position reports to the Restaurant Manager and is focused on keeping day-to-day restaurant activity running smoothly, delivering memorable guest experiences, maintaining service standards, and helping the management team meet business targets.
Guest Service and Restaurant Operations
The supervisor will make sure guests receive warm, efficient, and consistent service throughout their dining experience. This includes overseeing table handling and guest movement, maintaining the look and cleanliness of the dining areas, monitoring service flow, and stepping in quickly to handle concerns or complaints in a professional manner.
Team Supervision and Leadership
Responsibility includes guiding Front of House staff during shifts, holding pre-shift briefings, sharing daily updates, and supporting team development through coaching and training. The role also involves reviewing team performance, encouraging accountability, and helping build strong coordination between Front of House and Back of House teams.
Standards, Compliance, and Quality
The supervisor must ensure that all restaurant processes follow company policies, service expectations, and operating procedures. Attention to food safety, hygiene, health, safety, grooming, and professional conduct is essential. The role also supports management in rolling out operational improvements and service initiatives.
Sales and Cost Support
The position contributes to revenue growth by encouraging upselling and stronger guest engagement. It also involves tracking daily sales and productivity, while helping control labor usage, inventory, and operating expenses.
Administrative and Operational Support
Additional duties include helping with scheduling, keeping an eye on inventory, preparing daily reports, and supporting opening and closing routines. The supervisor will also escalate operational issues and keep management informed of important developments.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Tourism, or a similar discipline is preferred. Candidates should bring at least 3 years of Food & Beverage experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity, along with a solid understanding of restaurant operations and guest service expectations.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate should demonstrate leadership, strong people management ability, clear communication, sound problem-solving, confident decision-making, and a guest-first approach. Comfort working in a busy, high-pressure environment and familiarity with POS and restaurant management systems are also important.
Working Conditions
This role requires long periods of standing and walking. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays. The job may also involve lifting and moving restaurant supplies and equipment within operational limits.
