Retail Designer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Retail Designer who can turn ideas into precise technical drawings and practical plans for project delivery. This position involves partnering with engineers, architects, and designers to translate concepts into detailed, workable documentation. Strong CAD capability and a solid grasp of construction, manufacturing, or mechanical design fundamentals are key to performing well in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce clear and accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar professional design software.
• Develop detailed blueprints, schematics, and supporting documentation in line with project requirements and industry expectations.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, and contractors to refine design ideas, apply feedback, and confirm practical feasibility.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions within drawings to support fabrication, construction, or installation work.
• Update existing drawings when designs change, new information becomes available, or client feedback requires revisions, while keeping version history organized.
• Make sure all drawings comply with relevant regulations, industry codes, and internal quality standards.
• When needed, support site surveys by taking measurements and checking that implementation matches the approved design.
• Keep drawing files, revision records, and technical support documents well organized and easy to retrieve.

Profile & Competencies

• Solid understanding of construction, mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering principles depending on the project context.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Good communication skills for working with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations, building codes, and safety requirements.
• Capability to handle several projects at once while meeting deadlines.
• Creative thinking with the confidence to propose and challenge design ideas.
• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD, 3DsMAX, Revit, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or comparable CAD tools.
• Experience with 3D modeling, BIM, or rendering software.
• Understanding of material characteristics, fabrication methods, and manufacturing workflows.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retail, preferably in parfums and cosmetics or luxury retail.
• Strong spoken and written English skills.

This role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is a full-time onsite position.
