Rigid Driver

Role overview

This position is for a rigid truck driver handling multi-drop work, typically completing 12 to 20 deliveries or collections each day, depending on the load volume and travel distance. The role also covers main carriage movements between DACHSER Ireland locations.

Duties and service expectations

You will be expected to transport freight safely, efficiently, and in line with the Drivers Handbook, company quality procedures, and all legal requirements. A key part of the job is delivering a professional customer experience and representing the company to a high standard at all times.

Working pattern

Working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Compensation

The salary offered is in the range of €38,000 to €45,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Keep to the planned timetable and ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and use the company handheld devices correctly.
• Follow all Health and Safety, Road Safety, Quality, and ADR rules at all times.
• Help maintain a safe workplace and report any safety issues or incidents without delay.
• Keep ADR training current and maintain any other required certifications.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by management that are reasonable and relevant to the role.

Skills and experience

• Valid ADR licence.
• Category C driving licence.
• Current digital tachograph card and driver qualification card.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems effectively.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar driving role.
