About the Role
This position is for an experienced electrical or hardware technician to support advanced unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) simulators at Al Majma’ah Airbase. You will work as part of a three-person technician team maintaining a fleet of three simulators: two generic mission training devices and one desktop system. The role offers hands-on exposure to modern simulator platforms and related equipment, with opportunities to broaden technical expertise in a learning-focused environment.
The working schedule for this role is 0700 to 1500, Sunday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, isolate, and resolve issues in complex flight simulation systems.
- Review subsystem-level updates and bug fixes alongside the test engineer or pilot.
- Support the integration of data, software updates, hardware changes, and replacement assemblies.
- Carry out instrument calibration.
- Conduct functional checks and validation tests on systems.
- Perform detailed fault tracing and repair or replacement of defective components.
- Learn and carry out preventive maintenance on simulators and related systems.
- Help diagnose and correct faults on simulators and associated equipment.
- Use maintenance management tools to log, monitor, and track service activities.
- Complete pre-flight and post-flight inspections for all simulators.
- Perform visual calibration procedures.
- Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures.
- Assist with refurbishment work and hardware alterations.
- Handle administrative duties as needed.
- Perform logistics-related tasks such as receiving parts, coordinating repairs, and validating/testing components.
Requirements
- Relevant technical qualifications are preferred, along with practical experience in an electronic, avionic, or other technical technician role.
- Strong background in electrical engineering and hardware engineering.
- Exposure to software systems is required, though coding ability is not necessary.
- Comfortable using computers, including PC-based systems and/or mainframe or architecture-related environments.
- Basic soldering and circuit board repair experience is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is preferred.
- Strong diagnostic thinking with a practical and analytical approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
